Die Band ist absolut tanzbar, in Berlin spielen sie regelmäßig auf dem sogenannten "STADTRACKER" auf ehemaligen Flughafen Tempelhofer Feld für die Berliner Swing-Dance Community @berlinhop.

Die Groove Merchants bringen Swing auf den Hans-Gruber-Platz

Am Sonntag, den 14. Juni, lädt der Förderkreis Kultur Großauheim ab 11 Uhr bereits zum dritten Mal zum beliebten Jazz-Frühschoppen ein.
Nach erfolgreichen Auftritten der Hanauer Jazzbigband und Petit Fleur stehen in diesem Jahr die Groove Merchants auf der Bühne und versprechen ein mitreißendes Musikerlebnis.

Das sechsköpfige Jazz-Ensemble entführt sein Publikum in die Klangwelt der 1930er- und 1940er-Jahre, verbindet dabei jedoch gekonnt traditionelle Elemente mit frischen, modernen Arrangements.
Der augenzwinkernde Bandname geht auf ein gleichnamiges Arrangement des Komponisten Thad Jones zurück, dass für die Musiker eine wichtige Inspirationsquelle darstellt. Die Groove Merchants transportieren die Energie und Lebensfreude des Swing in die Gegenwart und zeigen, dass diese Musikform bis heute Raum für Improvisation und überraschende Wendungen bietet.

Neben musikalischen Genüssen dürfen sich die Besucherinnen und Besucher auch auf bayerische Schmankerl freuen. Veranstaltungsort ist der Hans-Gruber-Platz in Großauheim. Der Eintritt ist frei, Spenden sind willkommen.
Für die jüngeren Besucher gibt es ein Mitmach-Angebot mit Malen und Basteln.

Der Förderkreis Kultur Großauheim freut sich auf zahlreiche Gäste und einen schwungvollen Jazzvormittag unter freiem Himmel.

Die Mainzer Hopper laden wieder zum offenen, freien Training ein um allen die Gelegenheit zu geben den Verein und seine Mitglieder kennen zu lernen, aber vor allem auch einen entspannten Sonntagnachmittag zu vertanzen 🙂

Ein Tap Jam ist ein offenes Treffen / eine Session für Tap Dance (Stepptanz) – ähnlich wie eine Jazz- oder Blues-Jam, nur eben mit den Füßen.
Tänzer*innen können spontan mitmachen, Improvisation und Kommunikation stehen im Vordergrund, alle Level sind willkommen. Musiker*innen sind herzlich eingeladen, mitzumachen.

Um reinzukommen gibt es vorher einen Workshop

19 – 20 Stepptanz Workshop für Beginner (keine Vorkenntnisse erforderlich, keine Steppschuhe erforderlich – wir steppen in normalen Schuhen)

Die Swingschicht freut sich sehr, 2026 wieder auf dem Yachtklub Bootshaus zu Gast sein zu dürfen. Also blockiert Euch die Termine, es werden Euch wieder exquisite Jazzbands mit großartigen Konzerten live zum Swingen und Tanzen bringen.

Zusammen mit der Jazz Initiative Frankfurt und der Jazz Abteilung des FTV 1860 freuen sich Eric, Johannes, Jonas, Michael und Sabrina mit EUCH zusammen auf eine fantastische Zeit an Bord bei Dianas Team vom Yachtklub.

The Band

Swing Belleville plays jazz manouche and all the Balboa dancers know this style for its vibrant rhythmical pace and intense melodic expression. This music style
was invented and shaped by the legendary jazz musicians Django Reinhardt, Stephane
Grappelli and their Band Hot Club De France in the 1930s to 1950s.
